Claims Form Jargon Explained
Total Value of Goods in Transit
This is the combined value of all the goods you were contracted to move, not just the ones that you are claiming for.
Estimated Claim Value
This is a rough estimation of the combined value of the goods you are claiming for, please note if the item is repairable then the repair cost should be the price used.
Evidence of Value
In order to process your claim, we will require Proof of Purchase for the item(s) you are claiming for, if this is not available we will require the Purchase date.
Packing List
Is a document used in international trade. It provides the exporter, international freight forwarder, and ultimate consignee with information about the shipment, including how it’s packed, the dimensions and weight of each package, and the marks and numbers that are noted on the outside of the boxes.
Commercial Invoice
A commercial invoice is a document containing important information about the goods you intend to ship; they’re also used to create a customs declaration.
Consignment Note
A consignment note is a document regarding the carriage of goods by road which declares the contract of carriage and includes the instructions given to the carrier and proves the contract of carriage.
Freight Invoice
A freight invoice or freight bill is a bill rendered by a carrier to a consignee of freight and containing an identifying description of the freight, the name of the shipper, the point of origin of the shipment, its weight, and the number of charges.
